Network and Server Support Engineer

Job Role
We are seeking an experienced Network and Server Support Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive support services to our clients, ensuring their IT infrastructure and systems remain fully operational. Key responsibilities include proactive monitoring and maintenance, support and provisioning of new services, and acting as the escalation point for Priority 1 (P1) incidents involving servers and networks.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and managing servers and network infrastructure for a client base of over 250 companies.
- Designing and implementing patch management schedules, and overseeing daily patching activities.
- Managing and improving client network performance while ensuring security and compliance with best practices.
- Acting as the escalation point for Priority 1 (P1) incidents involving servers and networks.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in server and network engineering, with strong knowledge of network infrastructure hardware, Windows Server OS and roles, virtualisation technologies, storage solutions, backup and restore processes, and advanced firewall configuration. Experience with Meraki, Fortinet, Zyxel, and Sonicwall network technologies is essential. A deep understanding of networking concepts, such as DNS, DHCP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, and VPNs, is also required. Additionally, the successful candidate will have strong communication skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of documentation.
Estimated Salary
The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
