About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Burton's Biscuit, a leading manufacturer of biscuits in the UK. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our production equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs to plant equipment
  • Conduct Planned Maintenance (PPM), modifications, installations, and upgrades to plant machinery and site services
  • Apply and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice
  • Work across mechanical and electrical trades as qualified
  • Improve site production processes and plant design to minimize downtime and improve safety and quality
Requirements
  • Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering discipline (HNC preferred)
  • IOSH Working Safely certification
  • Food Safety/Hygiene qualification
  • Knowledge of Planned Maintenance systems (Shire)
  • Manufacturing background (preferably food industry)
