Senior Mechanical Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the success of our global professional services company by delivering high-quality mechanical design and engineering services.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement detailed mechanical design calculations and sketches in accordance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and engineering technicians to ensure design and drawing accuracy.
  • Lead mechanical building services design engineering on new build and refurbishment construction projects.
  • Support senior staff in feasibility studies, concept, and scheme design stages.
  • Conduct inspections and report on mechanical building services systems.
  • Undertake mechanical design work, including surveys, design, drawings, and specifications for projects.
  • Select and specify products, equipment, and installation standards for mechanical services.
  • Attend project design meetings, technical meetings, value engineering workshops, and risk workshops as required.

Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience aligned with Incorporated Engineer requirements for IMechE or CIBSE.
  • Ability to design principal mechanical systems from concept to detailed design.
  • Proficiency in Hevacomp / IES or equivalent software.
  • Ability to interpret and view drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of Building Regulations Part L compliance for mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
