About the Role

Century Group is seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering business at our Edinburgh North, SA site.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer to contribute to the design and development of special purpose equipment and components for the Mining, Defence, Power, and Water industries.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Development
  • Design mechanical components, systems, or products according to specifications and requirements, including material selection, structural analysis, fabrication design, and drafting.
  • Conduct analysis and simulations to ensure designs meet performance criteria, safety regulations, technical specifications, and standards.
Technical Documentation
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software.
  • Document design assumptions, calculations, decisions, and test results for quality compliance and future reference.
Quality Assurance and Testing
  • Assist in establishing quality control processes to ensure manufactured products meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct or participate in performance tests, durability tests, and failure analysis to identify potential issues and improve product reliability.
Problem Solving and Troubleshooting
  • Identify and resolve technical issues or challenges during product development, testing, or production.
  • Analyse root causes of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and lessons learned exercises to continuously improve engineering processes and methodologies.
  • Seek feedback from stakeholders and incorporate it into future designs or projects.
  • Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering.
  • Collaborate effectively with workshop personnel and provide engineering support to manufacturing activities.
  • Provide expert advice and technical support to project managers to ensure excellent technical representation when interfacing with clients.
About You

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a strong foundation in CAD software.
