Job Title: Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist


About the Role:


We are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at a brain injury rehabilitation centre in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplinary team providing speech and language therapy input using the BIRT Neurobehavioural model.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Apply the neurobehavioural approach to brain injury, demonstrating knowledge of current research findings and best practice in the field.
  • Manage and prioritise a caseload of individuals with complex mental and physical health needs and/or challenging behaviour.
  • Use evidence-based practice, service user-centred principles and clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention.

Requirements:



  • Hold a degree in Speech and Language Therapy, registered with the HCPC.
  • Able to manage complex dysphagia within an adult neurology caseload.
  • Minimum 4 years qualified experience encompassing complex case management.
