Residential Childcare Support Worker

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young adults with emotional behavioural difficulties and social/emotional mental health needs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support and guidance to our young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement personalized care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our young people.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with our young people, their families, and other professionals involved in their care.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as 'Developmental Trauma' and therapeutic parenting.
- Contribute to a safe and supportive living environment, promoting the welfare and protection of our young people.
Requirements:
- Experience of working with children and young people, preferably in a residential care setting.
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including sleep-ins, and to cover sicknesses, annual leave, and other absences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with young people, families, and other professionals.
- Hold a relevant qualification in childcare or youth work, or be willing to work towards a required qualification.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car, as this role will involve travelling.
