About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and passionate Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team at the Plough Inn. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the success of our culinary operations and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our customers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards, meeting the expectations of our discerning customers.
  • To maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to the highest standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • To anticipate and respond to customer needs, providing exceptional service and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • To lead and motivate a team of cooks, providing guidance and support to ensure they are equipped to deliver outstanding results.
  • To manage kitchen resources effectively, including inventory, supplies, and equipment, to ensure efficient operations and minimize waste.
  • To stay up-to-date with the latest culinary trends and techniques, applying this knowledge to enhance our menu offerings and improve customer satisfaction.
  • To maintain accurate records and reports, providing insights and recommendations to inform business decisions.
  • To ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including health and safety, food safety, and environmental policies.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a head chef or kitchen manager, with a track record of success in a similar role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and environmental policies, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.

Working Hours and Conditions:

40-45 hours per week, with flexibility to meet the needs of the business. Own transport preferred.
