About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Civil Engineer to join our Capital and Commercial Services team in the Wastewater Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading technical aspects of optioneering and design for various waste treatment projects, driving innovative and efficient solutions that minimize environmental impact and whole life costs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical authority and lead on all technical aspects of optioneering and design for waste treatment projects.
  2. Support the Waste Treatment Core Design Team and develop the technical capability of team members through coaching and mentoring.
  3. Supervise the creation of designs and specifications for wastewater treatment projects, considering health and safety, commissioning, and other key factors.
  4. Identify and review deviations from our client's standards and support the Project Management Team in taking these deviations to the relevant standards owners or Standards Approval Board for approval.
  5. Communicate lessons learned from the project to the wider business and develop younger and less experienced engineers working on the programme of work.
About You:

We are looking for a UK-experienced Civil Engineer with a passion for solving engineering problems, the ability to lead and inspire, and the confidence to drive through challenging solutions. Ideally, you should be chartered or a member of a relevant engineering institution.
