Stirling, Stirling, United Kingdom Stirling Council Full time

Stirling Council is the lead authority in a joint agreement to provide a Forth Valley-wide emergency out-of-hours social work service. This role is part of a generic service, working with child and adult protection cases.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Social Work or equivalent, with at least three years of post-qualifying experience. A balance of professional skills is necessary for this position, including knowledge of primary legislation, MHO accreditation, and understanding of other care group settings.

This is a fixed-term position for two years, working 35 hours a week during evenings, weekends, and public holidays, with occasional daytime meetings. The post involves hybrid working, with an on-call allowance paid for night-time standbys and out-of-hours work.

Benefits include 30 days annual leave plus seven public holidays (rising to 35 after five years continuous service), flexible working arrangements, biennial incremental progression, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, up to six months full sick pay, carers leave, paternity leave, health and wellbeing support, learning and development opportunities, cycle-to-work scheme, lift share scheme, car lease scheme, and technology benefit scheme.

The successful candidate must be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for children and adults, and will be required to complete a form and have their details verified as part of the application process.
