About the Job:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Ngai Tahu Liaison Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Department of Conservation and contribute to the development of conservation management strategies and plans for national parks within the jurisdiction.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including iwi and hapū groups.
  • Provide expert advice on Māori customary approaches to conservation.
  • Contribute to the development of conservation management plans and policies.
Requirements:
  • A strong understanding of Ngai Tahu values and conservation principles.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of the Deed of Settlement and its undertakings.
Remuneration:

The salary for this position is approximately $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
