Sustainability Manager Role

We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to join our team at Thegradcafe. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of our sustainability strategy and client requirements on projects within the London Region.

To achieve this, the successful candidate will work closely with the Regional Sustainability Manager and construction project teams to ensure that procurement documentation reflects project sustainability requirements, projects and supply chain comply with legislative requirements, and carbon emissions & waste are minimized.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing Environmental Management Systems on projects from tender stage with support from the Regional Sustainability Manager
  • Ensuring procurement documentation reflects project sustainability requirements
  • Conducting regular site surveillances and audits to ensure compliance with legislative requirements
  • Managing projects to reduce carbon emissions & waste and ensuring ethically procured goods and services
  • Reporting project performance against Build Sure and client requirements
  • Reviewing project performance, identifying areas for improvement, and communicating best practices across the business unit
  • Delivering training on environmental management and sustainability for project staff and supply chain

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in a construction environmental / sustainability role
  • Qualifications / strong knowledge of environmental assessment methods (BREEAM, LEED, HQM etc)
  • Ability to technically review, advise, and manage delivery of improved sustainability performance and environmental assessments
