A career-defining opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Commissioning and Automation Specialist to join our dynamic team at Automation Experts Ltd in the East Midlands.

The Role:
  1. Lead electrical commissioning activities with clients and engineering teams on new builds and upgrades of existing systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  2. Design, set up, and test control panels, PLCs, HMIs, AC and DC Drives, and Instrumentation on-site and remotely.
  3. Conduct thorough commissioning tests, review results, and produce comprehensive test reports to confirm compliance with technical specifications.
  4. Respond promptly to on-call service requests, resolving electrical and automation equipment breakdowns and faults remotely or on-site.
  5. Document all changes, including software revisions, and maintain accurate records.
  6. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Service teams to drive continuous development of machinery and equipment, processes, and address technical issues.
  7. Perform minor installation completion works, modifications, and snagging tasks.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in commissioning machinery and equipment in heavy industrial environments, such as Mining, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Steel Production, or Rail.
  2. Expertise in reading and interpreting PLC ladder logic and function blocks, specifically with Siemens S7-1200/1500 range of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and proficiency in TIA Portal.
  3. Holding a Full Driving License and willingness to travel to projects across the UK.
  4. Demonstrated experience in E&I application fault finding and site safety procedures (LOTO, RAMS, etc.).

This role is suitable for Engineers with experience in commissioning control systems for machinery processes or Service Engineers looking to develop their skills.
