Electrical Commissioning Project Engineer

This leading international engineering company, Automation Experts Ltd, is seeking an Electrical Commissioning Project Engineer to join their expanding team in the East Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate electrical and instrumentation commissioning activities with clients and the engineering team on new builds and upgrades of existing systems.
- Set up control panels, PLCs, HMIs, AC and DC Drives, and instrumentation on and off-site.
- Perform commissioning tests, review test results, and produce test reports to confirm compliance with technical specifications.
- Respond to on-call service requests, from breakdowns and faults on electrical and automation equipment remotely or on-site or escalate issues to the engineering team.
- Document and control all changes including software revisions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Service teams to ensure continuous development of machinery and equipment, processes, and assist with technical issues.
- Carry out minor installation completion works, modifications, and snagging.
Requirements:
- Experience of commissioning machinery and equipment in a heavy industrial environment such as Mining, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Steel Production, or Rail.
- Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic and function blocks working with Siemens S7-1200/1500 range of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Adept user of TIA Portal.
- Full Driving License and willingness to travel to projects across the UK.
- Demonstrable experience in E&I application fault finding.
- Demonstrable experience in site safety procedures (LOTO, RAMS, etc.).
The ideal candidate will be based in the East Midlands and have experience of commissioning control systems for machinery processes, or a service engineer looking to develop their skills.
