Job Title: Electrical Control and Instrument Project Engineer Job Summary: GE Aviation is seeking an experienced Electrical Control and Instrument Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering electrical control and instrumentation systems for our naval applications. Key Responsibilities: * Develop software in LabVIEW and National Instruments TestStand for new test equipment, systems, data acquisition, and control systems. * Design the overall architecture of the application, ensuring it is maintainable, extensible, reliable, and efficient. * Integrate the completed parts of the application into one application and validate the system complete with hardware including with the systems under test. * Support existing NI/LabVIEW systems, providing maintenance, fault finding, diagnosis, repair, and upgrades/development as required. * Support the development of other engineers. * Participate in design reviews. * Liaise with other teams and disciplines within the company and customers and suppliers at all levels to produce requirements and other system documents. * Perform Factory Acceptance Testing and Commissioning Work to the company's Quality Procedures. * Assist in other areas of the business as required. Essential Skills: * Demonstrable experience of software design in the Test & Measurement industry, ideally in high-speed real-time applications. * Experience of software design process from development of brief through to final validation, commissioning, and in-service support. * LabVIEW experience (CLD minimum desirable but professional development is available to the right candidate.) National Instruments TestStand experience would be advantageous. * Degree/H.N.D. in Electrical/Software Engineering discipline. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Hands-on hardware troubleshooting and software debugging experience. * Knowledge of electrical circuit operation/design. * Good verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
