Middle Grade Registrar to Support Gastroenterology Team

Job Summary
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Medical Directorate - Wrexham Maelor Hospital, is seeking a Middle Grade Registrar to support the Gastroenterology Team.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for seeing referrals from other specialties, under the supervision of a Consultant, and taking over care as needed. There will be shared care of complex inflammatory bowel disease patients with the surgeons.
Training and Development
The Registrar will participate in a dedicated weekly Endoscopy Training Session, with close supervision and weekly discussions of clinic patients. There will also be weekly teaching for the ward team, including Upper GI MDT, Lower GI MDT, and monthly IBD MDT.
Opportunities for Growth
There will be opportunities for audit and quality improvement projects within the role. The initial contract is for a 12-month period, which can be reviewed and extended if wished.

The Post will mainly be ward-based, with one session for administration. Ward duties will include admitting acute medical patients, outpatient Gastroenterology Clinic, providing Gastroenterology opinion to other specialties, and teaching - undergraduate.
