About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at a Children's Residential Service in South West London. As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD) in a 5-bed home.

The home provides a safe and supportive environment for 11-17 year olds, with a focus on promoting positive relationships, education, and emotional well-being. You will work closely with a team of experienced professionals to provide individualized support and guidance to the young people, helping them to develop essential life skills and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support young people with EBD in a residential setting, promoting positive relationships and behaviors.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the needs of each young person are met.
  • Provide guidance and support to young people in accessing education, managing emotions, and developing life skills.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of therapeutic approaches to managing and understanding risks.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of the home's policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • 3 years of experience supporting young people with challenging behavior in a residential care setting.
  • Physical and mental strength to cope with the demands of the role.
  • Availability to work full-time (average 39 hours per week), including some weekends and bank holidays.
  • NVQ L3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
