About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our administrative team within the Day Treatment Unit (DTU) at the Churchill Hospital, Oxford. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to our clinicians and patients, ensuring the smooth operation of our services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient activity on a daily basis within DTU, including capturing waiting lists, admissions, discharges, and appointments using the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system.
  • Use other software systems, such as ARIA, to sense-check input of data on EPR.
  • Have thorough knowledge of 18 weeks Referral to Treatment in relation to patients and how it applies to patients being referred to Oncology/Haematology and DTU.
  • Answer the telephone and take messages from patients, relatives, doctors, and allied healthcare professionals, dealing with any queries as appropriate.
  • Be responsible for greeting new patients, relatives, and visitors, directing them to the appropriate member of staff or area, and demonstrating excellent communication skills.
  • Liaise with other departments within the hospital to book investigations and assist with transport queries.
  • Update EPR and ARIA systems as required.

Person Specification

  • Good general level of education (GCSEs/BTEC grade C or above or equivalent)
  • Proficient in use of MS Office
  • Experience working in a team as well as independently
  • EPR/Aria Trained (desirable)
  • Previous experience in the NHS/Public Sector (desirable)
