Job Title: Project Land Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Land Manager to join our team at EDP Energias de Portugal S.A. in a key role that will play a crucial part in the land strategy for wind, solar, and storage projects in the prospecting phase.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the negotiation and delivery of land rights for solar, storage, and wind projects.
  2. Manage ongoing relationships with land stakeholders, including landowners, tenant farmers, estate managers, and land agents.
  3. Set up partnerships with external land service providers and participate in competitive tender processes.
  4. Familiarize yourself with and understand farming and forestry economics and regulations.
  5. Attend consultations and meetings with stakeholder groups.
  6. Liaise with and manage in-house and external grid, technical, legal, GIS, planning, and development resources.
  7. Provide technical support for project managers on land issues, define land strategies with project managers, anticipate land issues, and handle land issues in coordination with the legal and engineering departments.
  8. Support project managers in the ending phase of final leases (notary, surveyor, etc.).
  9. Implement procedures related to storage, solar, and wind farm land issues.
Requirements:
  1. Academic Level:

Educated to degree level, ideally qualified in a suitable subject (rural surveying, estate management). Chartered Surveyor status is preferable.

  1. Required Professional Experience:

3-5 years' experience in solar, storage, and/or wind project development from a land management perspective.

  1. Specific Knowledge:
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience of concluding land transactions.
  • Good understanding of forestry, farming, and commercial property sectors, sustainability, and land management.
  • Experience of the solar, storage, and/or wind development process.
  • Good client-facing skills and able to communicate complex and technical information and concepts to non-technical third parties.
  • Broad knowledge of investment, valuations, and funding of projects.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Microsoft Office Package.
  1. Languages:

Fluent English.

  1. Skills/Competences:
  • A driving license is essential.
  • Previous land surveying experience, ideally in Renewables.
  • Excellent negotiation, presenting, and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as a key part of a team.
  • Excellent written English and report writing skills.
  • Capable organization skills and a collaborative and skilled communicator.
