South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Interventional Neuroradiologist to join our esteemed team.

We provide comprehensive tertiary care services to the Northern region, serving patients with complex neurological conditions. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of interventional neuroradiology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a wide range of interventional procedures, including mechanical thrombectomy, to treat cerebrovascular disorders.
  • Provide expert diagnostic reporting and contribute to the accurate interpretation of neuroimaging studies.
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to expand and enhance our mechanical thrombectomy service, improving outcomes for patients.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment that prioritizes teamwork and patient well-being.
Essential Requirements:

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) or equivalent.
  • Completion of Core Training in Radiology (CCT) or equivalent.
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Neuroradiology.
  • Proven experience in performing neurointerventional procedures.
  • A strong track record of clinical audit and commitment to quality improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and patients.
Desirable Requirements:

The following qualifications and experience would be highly advantageous:

  • Training in appraisal techniques and clinical audit methodologies.
  • Experience in research or service development within the field of neuroradiology.
  • Teaching skills and supervisory experience, contributing to the training and development of junior colleagues.
