We are seeking a highly skilled Customs Compliance Specialist to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our Global Trade Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations and procedures.

About the Role

This role involves overseeing Customs Compliance processes for the Largest Aircraft Engine Service Facility within a global business. You will manage import and export processes within the site for a Global Supply Chain, identifying areas of risk to the business. This includes investigating compliance defects and leading corrective actions to closure.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversight of Customs Compliance processes for the Largest Aircraft Engine Service Facility.
  • Management of import and export processes within the site for a Global Supply Chain, identifying areas of risk to the business.
  • Manage direct reports and maintain internal team processes and ongoing training.
  • Manage the classification and valuation of goods process to ensure accurate and consistent customs declarations in line with HMRC and global policies.
  • Provide technical customs advice and guidance to Programme teams to ensure compliance with internal corporate policies and procedures.
  • Oversee Monitoring of customs entries to ensure freight agents have imported/exported goods correctly, and request amendments where required.
  • Support and lead internal training needs to ensure processes and work instructions are followed.
  • Maintain knowledge of and stay current on regulatory changes and Solid understanding of required documentation such as commercial invoices.
  • Represent the company in discussions with local customs authorities and manage any customs audits, ensuring accurate and timely data is provided where required.
  • Work with Customs and Transport organisation to execute global trade compliance policies and strategies.
  • Reviewing and updating internal policies and SOPs in line with new and changing regulations.
