Job Description

\

As an EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with suspected ASC, helping them access learning and build confidence in the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing strategies to develop the child's communication, social skills, and sensory regulation.\
  • Fostering the child's independence and emotional well-being, ensuring they feel safe and supported.\
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to ensure the child receives comprehensive support.\
  • Attending meetings and contributing to the child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).\
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and cooperation.\
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting on the child's progress.\
  • Contributing to the overall smooth running of the nursery, including setting up activities, preparing resources, and cleaning equipment.\
  • Providing general administrative support as required.\
  • Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.\
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • \
  • Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or similar needs.\
  • A strong understanding of EYFS curriculum and child development.\
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (Level 2 or above preferred).\
  • An enhanced DBS check or be willing to apply for one.
