Job Description

\

This role involves working closely with a child with suspected Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), providing individualized support to help them access learning and build confidence in the classroom. Key responsibilities include:

  1. \
  2. Assisting in the implementation of strategies to develop the child's communication, social skills, and sensory regulation.\
  3. Fostering the child's independence and emotional well-being, ensuring they feel safe and supported.\
  4. Collaborating with teachers and other professionals to ensure the child receives comprehensive support.\
  5. Participating in meetings and contributing to the child's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).\
  6. Developing and maintaining relationships with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and cooperation.\
  7. Maintaining accurate records and reporting on the child's progress.\
  8. Contribute to the overall smooth running of the nursery, including setting up activities, preparing resources, and cleaning equipment.\
  9. General administrative tasks as required.\
  10. Stay up-to-date with relevant training and professional development opportunities.\
  11. Maintain adherence to health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies.

Requirements

\

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • \
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, preferably those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or similar needs.\
  • A solid understanding of EYFS curriculum and child development principles.\
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (Level 2 or above preferred).\
  • An existing enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
