Surveillance IT Analyst

Job Summary
The Surveillance function within Compliance at ICBC Standard Bank monitors Market Conduct, Financial Crime, and Conflicts of Interest risks. Automated systems provide daily capabilities for review by team analysts, while a manual monitoring programme supplements these efforts. The Surveillance team works closely with Compliance IT to develop and maintain automated monitoring systems, ensuring innovation and enhancement to meet new regulatory requirements and emerging risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform technical analysis during rule reviews to ensure accurate understanding of rule logic and parameters.
- Document requirements stemming from identified issues or enhancements.
- Assist with parameter assessments and testing.
- Work closely with Compliance IT to understand rule logic and consider technical approaches to enhancements.
- Formulate testing approaches and test plans.
- Assist with user acceptance testing.
- Assist with root cause analysis and follow-up of corrective action.
Required Skills:
- Strong Business Analyst experience.
- Strong technical experience, including database query and code review.
- Good knowledge of SQL.
- Technical understanding of Surveillance systems across market abuse and financial crime risk.
- Experience working with Compliance business stakeholders.
- Good understanding of business change and software development life cycles.
