Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team in Belfast. As a key member of our risk management function, you will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across various business areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate governance and facilitate the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA) as required by the MCA Standard.
  • Contribute to the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy, and Control Inventory.
  • Provide support in identifying issue root cause, partnering with control and process owners to recommend holistic corrective actions and improvements.
  • Support the implementation of the Lessons Learned Policy, including monitoring of control breaches and dissemination of learnings across other business units.
  • Influence decisions on the review and challenge process, within the FLUs, on the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as required by the Control Standards.
  • Perform analysis to support the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of the MCA through controls prior to the execution of a process (QC).
  • Influence decisions to support adherence to the MCA Standard through controls after the execution of a process (QA).
  • Support and contribute to Operational and Compliance Risk in accordance with established Policy requirements.
  • Work with the team to identify, assess, escalate, and manage risk exposures across Risk Categories, including material, emerging, and concentration risks.
  • Perform analysis to support Risk Appetite and monitor/assess exposures against this in accordance with enterprise requirements.
  • Provide support to identify, assess, record, and respond to Operational and Compliance Risk events.
  • Perform analysis to support that adequate governance and training is in place to support management of Risk profiles.
  • Perform analysis on the risks associated with New Activities and changes to the Business, ensuring these are well understood and adequately controlled.
  • Support operational risk scenario analysis and stress testing for Operational Risk Capital requirements.
  • Perform analysis to support risk and control assessments or coordination for programs within various risk stripes.
  • Support to ensure risk and control responsibilities and accountabilities are embedded within FLUs.
  • Be involved with the implementation of standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements and support sound operational and compliance risk management.
Requirements
  • Experience in Technology risk & control, development, or support.
  • Experience with workflow systems.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding relationship building and relationship management skills.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
