Job Description

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly organized and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Volunteer Manager at Yellow Submarine Charity. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the recruitment and management of volunteers across our projects and activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to recruit and retain volunteers, including building relationships with key sources such as schools and colleges.
  • Manage and support volunteers across the organization, including students and interns on placements with Yellow Submarine.
  • Design and deliver a comprehensive training program for volunteers, including organizational induction training and regular workshops.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and activities.
  • Conduct and manage DBS checks for volunteers.
  • Communicate effectively with volunteers and potential volunteers through regular newsletters and updates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other organizations that support volunteers in our community.
  • Support Yellow Submarine's activities as needed, including social clubs, daytime sessions, and holiday activities.
  • Contribute to the development of new and innovative ideas to support our target groups and achieve our charitable objectives.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Co-Directors, while upholding equal opportunities and anti-oppressive practice, and safeguarding policies and procedures.

Person Specification

  • We are looking for someone who believes in the work of Yellow Submarine Charity and understands the need for our organization.
  • You should be able to command respect and inspire the people we support.
  • You should be able to safely manage a group with sole responsibility.
  • You should be organized and responsible, with excellent communication skills and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • You should be numerate and computer literate, with a flexible and can-do attitude.
