Aldwych Consulting Commercial Operations Lead Position

The estimated salary for this role in London is £70,000 - £100,000 per annum.

We are recruiting an experienced Commercial Operations Lead to support our Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic procurement and commercial support to clients, collaborating with stakeholders to develop and deliver innovative solutions for dynamic challenges within the infrastructure and public sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop bespoke commercial solutions for diverse client needs, along with cost analyses and benchmarking to identify key cost drivers.
  • Promote collaborative procurement models such as Alliances, Partnering, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), and multi-lot frameworks.
  • Plan and execute procurement activities for large-scale contracts, including prequalification, tendering, negotiation, and contract award recommendations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including legal, finance, engineering, and program teams, to achieve seamless project delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree qualified with progress towards MRICS, MCIPS, or MCIOB (or equivalent qualification).
  • Understanding of procurement delivery models, routes to market, and collaborative frameworks.
  • Significant experience in major programmes or complex projects within infrastructure, construction, engineering, manufacturing, oil & gas, or similar.
  • Knowledge of public sector regulatory frameworks such as NEC, JCT, and FIDIC.
  • Proficient in construction cost analysis, benchmarking, and market data application for strategy development.
  • Commercial governance procedures, e-sourcing, category management, and contract negotiation in competitive dialogue settings.
  • Dynamic purchasing systems and running competitive auctions.
  • Risk and opportunity management, project financing, and experience winning work within the procurement discipline.
