Job Title: Volunteer Kitchen Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Volunteer Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Two Saints. As a Volunteer Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our clients who are homeless or in unstable accommodation by providing hot, nutritious meals twice a day.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming environment for clients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Support kitchen staff in preparing healthy and substantial meals, adhering to food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Engage with clients, responding to their needs and wishes, and promoting a non-discriminatory and person-centered approach.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy kitchen and canteen, managing donations efficiently and reporting any health and safety concerns.
  • Practice resilience in high-emotion situations, prioritizing client well-being and safety.

Requirements:

  • Clear verbal and written English
  • Able to cook to a high standard
  • Polite, assertive manner, ability to self-motivate
  • Passion for working in a client-facing role
  • Interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues
