About the Role

The Lancet Regional Health – Europe is an Open Access journal under The Lancet's global health initiative. It focuses on improving healthcare quality and access globally. As a Senior Editor, you will work with Senior Editors and the Editor-in-Chief on journal preparation, collaborate with authors and various editorial teams, and contribute critically to the selection of journal content.

Responsibilities
  • Identify experts to act as peer reviewers on selected submissions.
  • Write editorials, organize peer review of research articles and reviews, and conduct webinars and podcasts with authors and key opinion leaders.
  • Commission content to build our journal's profile among the communities we serve and handle special project content (e.g. Series and Commissions) as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain links with the regional health community to solicit high-quality research and thought leadership for the journal.
  • Attend conferences and events, identify suitable topics and authors, and keep up-to-date with current developments in regional health.
Requirements
  • Have relevant qualifications in clinical or biomedical science, public health, global health, or related fields. A medical degree (MD) or a PhD and post-doc research experience in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
  • Be accustomed to diversity and working globally and can connect with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate alignment with the Lancet's values.
  • Have an unfailingly can-do attitude.
  • Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives on time.
  • Have a natural ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders, teams and our community.
