About the Role

The Lancet Regional Health – Europe is an Open Access journal under The Lancet's global health initiative. Our mission is to improve healthcare quality and access globally. As a Senior Editor, you will work closely with Senior Editors and the Editor-in-Chief on journal preparation, collaborating with authors and various editorial teams to achieve our goals.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute critically to the selection of journal content, ensuring its relevance and quality.
  • Identify experts to act as peer reviewers on selected submissions, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Write editorials, organize peer review of research articles and reviews, and conduct webinars and podcasts with authors and key opinion leaders.
  • Commission content to build our journal's profile among the communities we serve, handling special project content as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain links with the regional health community to solicit high-quality research and thought leadership for the journal.
  • Attend conferences and events, identifying suitable topics and authors, and staying up-to-date with current developments in regional health.
Requirements
  • Hold relevant qualifications in clinical or biomedical science, public health, global health, or related fields. A medical degree (MD) or a PhD and post-doc research experience in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
  • Be accustomed to diversity and working globally, with the ability to connect with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate alignment with The Lancet's values.
  • Exhibit an unfailingly can-do attitude, with a natural ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with stakeholders, teams, and our community.
