Job Overview: Premier Teachers Ltd, a leading education recruitment agency, is seeking two highly skilled Teaching Assistants to join our team in Sunderland. As a Special Education Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role: We are looking for experienced candidates who can provide one-to-one support and additional cover for students with SEMH issues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and young people, excellent communication skills, and the ability to engage with students in a proactive way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development

Requirements:

  • Teaching Assistant or Youth Work qualification
  • Experience working with students with SEMH/behavioral issues or other SEND needs
  • Team Teach training
  • DBS clearance
