Chadwick Nott Legal Recruitment is seeking a skilled Procurement Lawyer to join a large commercial organisation supporting the public sector.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have experience in procurement law and will have the opportunity to shape the organisation's long-term procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation of Commercial Compliance Framework: Support the design and implementation of a commercial compliance framework that follows applicable legal rules and embeds best practices.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in line with the Board's level of risk appetite, providing the standards on processes and controls.
  • Public Contract Regulations: Act as a subject matter expert on Public Contract Regulations, horizon scanning for the organisation, and ensuring that the category team operates to the highest standards.
  • Procurement Document Implementation: Support the implementation of the new standard procurement documents.
  • Category and Sourcing Strategies: Support the pragmatic development of effective and legally compliant category and sourcing strategies.
  • Category Decision Forum Representation: Represent the legal function at meetings of the Category Decision Forum and, where appropriate, the Category Management Forum to ensure that decisions taken are informed by an assessment of legal risk.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience within a private practice or Inhouse environment practicing in a relevant area.
  • Procurement Law Expertise: Extensive experience of procurement law.
  • Problem-Solving and Stakeholder Engagement: A pragmatic approach to problem solving and an ability to engage with and involve a wide range of stakeholders and seniority across the whole of the supply chain.
  • Case Load Management: A willingness to manage your own case load and to respond to the demands of a fast-moving organisation.
What We Offer

This is a hybrid opportunity requiring 2 days a week working from one of their offices based in various locations across Nottinghamshire, Cheshire, Yorkshire and South Yorkshire and 3 days working from home.

Salary from Just under 58K with excellent benefits package including:

  • Performance bonus
  • 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase an additional 5 days.
