Job Overview

Academics Ltd is an inclusive specialist school in Wokingham that offers a structured environment for children aged 8 to 18 who have experienced trauma and emotional challenges.

We are seeking Learning Mentors to join our team and support students with mental health and behavioural needs, as well as those in care. This role is ideal for graduates in Psychology, Criminology, or Counselling, as well as individuals with relevant experience working with children or vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement tailored interventions to support students' social, emotional, and academic development.
  2. Collaborate with the class teacher to manage behaviour and create a safe learning environment.
  3. Work closely with experienced therapists and psychologists to develop and implement therapeutic strategies.
  4. Foster strong, trusting relationships with students to help them regulate emotions and overcome challenges.
  5. Modify communication and learning approaches to meet individual needs.

This role offers hands-on experience supporting students with a range of needs, including Autism, ADHD, and developmental trauma, making it a great opportunity for career advancement in psychology, therapy, education, or criminal justice.

Estimated Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per year
