At Space Engineering Services, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic People & Development Team Manager to join our team. As a key member of our HR function, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the People function, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, employee experience, and management development.
  • Support Space Engineering Services through various communication and engagement campaigns, as well as leading a number of workforce initiatives such as health and wellbeing promotion related to national awareness days.
  • Manage and mentor a team of professionals focused on Employee Relations and Recruitment, and Management Development, providing management and direction to the department, setting and reviewing clear objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set team goals, and promote professional development opportunities.
  • Continuously look to improve the quality, performance, and inter-departmental working of the business.
Employee Relations (ER)
  • Oversee and guide the team in managing employee relations cases, ensuring timely resolution of workplace conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure that all ER processes are compliant with relevant legislation and internal policies.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex employee relations issues.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
  • Support our Recruitment Coordinator to develop and execute strategies for attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent.
  • Oversee the development of job descriptions, interview processes, and onboarding experiences that support a positive candidate experience.
Management Training & Development
  • Design and facilitate management development training sessions.
  • Design ad-hoc training materials that support managers in their roles and foster continuous development across all departments.
  • Track the effectiveness of training programs and implement improvements as necessary.
Compliance & Policy Management
  • Accountable for People & Development policies ensuring end-user clarity while maintaining legal requirements.
  • Ensure the People team adheres to all company policies and employment legislation.
  • Lead the review and support in updating any HR policies to reflect changes in employment law or company practices.

Relevant experience in team management, employee relations, recruitment, and HR system administration is essential. Knowledge of Cascade (or similar HR systems) and experience in system administration are also required. The ideal candidate will have highly developed relationship-building, communication, and influencing skills, as well as personal credibility. A commercial mindset, who balances both business needs and best practice, is essential. Experience in working with projects and implementing new initiatives is also desirable.
