Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and caring support worker to join our team working on the Scottish Islands.

The role involves promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing of service users who have a variety of additional needs. You will be helping service users with daily tasks such as meal preparation, medication administration, moving and handling, household tasks, and general domiciliary care.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives while enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Scottish islands on your days off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to service users with learning disabilities, elderly, dementia, physical disabilities, and challenging behavior.
  • Assist with daily tasks such as meal preparation, medication administration, moving and handling, and household chores.
  • Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing of service users.
  • Work effectively in a team, liaising with wider teams to ensure the best level of care is provided.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a care home or community care/care at home environment.
  • Compassionate and caring towards others with a desire to help people.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and stay calm in stressful situations.
  • Moving and handling training and medication administration training.
  • Fully qualified driver with access to a vehicle.
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available).
