Social Worker Leader for Child Welfare
As a seasoned social worker, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children and families within the Wandsworth community. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the well-being of those who need it most.
About the RoleThis permanent position is an excellent opportunity to utilize your skills and experience in leading statutory cases that require a qualified social worker. You will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement effective plans to protect children from harm.
Your primary responsibility will be to lead the assessment, planning, implementation, and review (APIR) process for children in need and their families. This will involve collaborating with allied health and social care practitioners to ensure a comprehensive approach to APIR and safeguarding.
In addition to your leadership role, you will participate positively in professional supervision and annual appraisal reviews, taking personal responsibility for maintaining high-quality practice standards. Your commitment to achieving performance targets and providing accredited practice teaching will contribute significantly to the team's success.
To excel in this position, you must possess a deep understanding of the key policies related to social care with children and families. This includes familiarity with multi-disciplinary working, integration, and whole-family approaches.
You will also be responsible for developing your professional expertise in at least one of the key risk factors affecting child welfare, such as parental substance misuse, mental health problems, domestic abuse, learning difficulties, or homelessness.
A strong knowledge base of local preventative and targeted family support services, particularly those provided by the voluntary and community sector, is essential. You will demonstrate competence and confidence in using the Council's electronic case recording/reporting tool, maintaining accurate and up-to-date child records.
Promoting the meaningful participation of children, young people, and parents/carers in decision-making processes and shaping service delivery is a critical aspect of this role. Your ability to consider and propose ideas for improving efficiency and effectiveness will be highly valued.
Contribution to policy reviews, particularly guidance and protocols for social workers, is also expected. A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent is required for this position.
Sanctuary Personnel Ltd prioritizes building relationships that promote equality, diversity, and inclusion. If you have a disability or require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process or within the workplace, please highlight this at the earliest opportunity.
The salary for this permanent Social Worker position is approximately £46,206 per annum, making it an attractive opportunity for those seeking a rewarding career in child welfare.
