Divisional Manager

As a key member of the senior retail leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the profitability of the division, achieving excellent customer service and retail standards through team performance. You will be proactive in identifying opportunities and risks, using external market trends and competitor insights to inform your decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive sales opportunities, improving productivity while managing costs within budget, maximising stock availability and improving merchandising standards.
- Lead and inspire a skilled management team to sustain high-performing teams through coaching and development.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to action the company vision, ensuring effective implementation of initiatives.
- Challenge and develop operational efficiencies across the division and the store.
- Monitor divisional sales and profit, delivering appropriate action, including stock loss and markdown/wastage plans.
- Ensure key business messages are cascaded effectively to all team members.
- Plan effectively for key trading and calendar events, ensuring implementation.
- Be responsible for concession relationships, supporting sales plans and highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Ensure the division is fully compliant with trading standards legislation, food hygiene standards, health and safety legislation, pest control, and security standards.
Requirements:
- Commercially astute, responsive to customer needs, market, and competitor trends.
- Experienced food retailer with skills and experience to work in a high-volume, fast-paced trading environment.
- Great communicator, friendly and confident, with excellent relationships with customers, team members, stakeholders, and concession.
- Engaging, able to influence multiple stakeholders to drive change.
- Naturally pragmatic and solutions-oriented, calm under pressure, and able to give clear guidance.
- Natural and service-focused leader, coaching team members to drive performance, service, and enable change.
- Team player, bringing ideas and sharing best practice with the senior management team.
- Collaborative, working flexibly as part of the management team, supporting projects and cross-functional meetings.

KPIs:
Sales - Total OB and concession sales (LY and Plan), profit, and cash sales margin
Stock loss – Cash and percentage to sales, audit compliance
Service – NPS score and data capture
People – Absence, turnover, engagement, and pulse surveys, as well as productivity, UPT, ATV, SPH
Payroll – Cash and percentage to sales.
