About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation services to clients with complex disabilities and needs.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation services to clients with complex disabilities and needs, including those with multiple pathologies and co-morbidities.
    • Manage, coordinate, and provide specific areas of service delivery within Intermediate Care Southwark.
    • Be a source of clinical expertise and advice on Occupational Therapy client care for Occupational Therapy colleagues, other health professionals, and external organisations.
    • Supervise and develop junior staff, including Specialist Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Support Workers, and Occupational Therapy students.
    • Work independently, autonomously, and frequently as a lone practitioner in the delivery of client care in the community setting.
    • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of clients using a holistic and client-centred approach.

Qualifications and Experience

We require a recognised Occupational Therapy degree qualification or equivalent and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration. You will also need experience of working with adults and older people with chronic conditions and complex co-morbidities, as well as rehabilitation experience at a minimum Band 6 in all core areas, including neurology, orthopaedics, respiratory, and care of the elderly. We also require evidence of ability to use an evidence-based approach, including clinical outcome measures to evaluate outcomes, and to work as an autonomous practitioner and make sound clinical judgments and decisions regarding patient care.
