Exciting Opportunity for a Research Assistant

LSTM is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Assistant to join our team in the Department of International Public Health. As a leading institution in tropical diseases, we are committed to supporting the development of person-centred health systems that are inclusive of people affected by chronic disease, disability, and mental health conditions.

The Social Science and Chronic Disease Unit (SSCDU) is a dynamic team that harnesses creative and strategic expertise to deliver high-quality technical oversight of large, multi-country, multi-partner research consortia. We are currently working on projects focused on the integration of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and mental health services, including through the REDRESS programme.

As a Research Assistant, you will work collaboratively to support ongoing health systems research, develop innovative methodological tools and approaches, and contribute to the development of recommendations from research evidence to support the scale up of equitable interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of innovative methodological tools and approaches for health systems research
  • Contribute to the development of recommendations from research evidence to support the scale up of equitable interventions
  • Improve stakeholder capacity to identify and address research gaps and apply evidence to strengthen health systems
  • Prepare and facilitate workshops in LMICs to support data analysis and training
  • Champion community engagement and patient involvement and collaborate with affected persons and communities

Requirements:

  • Masters in a health or health-related discipline (such as Public Health, Community Health, Health Policy, development studies, geography, health systems)
  • Knowledge of health systems strengthening
  • Experience in conducting multi-disciplinary implementation research
  • Experience of delivering research training and capacity strengthening activities in a low-income setting
  • Qualitative analysis skills
