Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our Clinical Sciences team in Liverpool. The successful candidate will support the design, delivery, and evaluation of person-centred mixed methods TB research, including related to addressing the social determinants of TB and evaluating TB diagnostic test combinations, within two large research consortia: LIGHT and Start4All.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design of effective integrated strategies for the sustainable, acceptable, and affordable case detection, care, and treatment of TB
  • Work collaboratively to support on-going social determinant health systems research
  • Prepare and facilitate workshops
  • Develop a shared bibliography resource and update with relevant literature relating to the social determinants and consequences of TB, and combinations of TB diagnostics
  • Carry out other tasks relevant to the post, including policy briefs and communications
  • Support with the delivery of the LIGHT capacity strengthening and safeguarding strategies
  • Manage and lead key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and participatory workshops and disseminate the information to all stakeholders

Requirements:

  • PhD in a health or health-related science discipline
  • Experience in working in health, development, or implementation in low-income countries
  • Experience in conducting implementation research, and research in the social sciences, health economics, and international health
  • Experience of working on research into the social determinants and consequences of health
  • Experience in academic paper writing/evidence of published paper authorship and international presentations
  • Understanding of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods study design, data collection, and data analysis
