Job Title: Female Community Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Female Community Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our support team, you will work closely with individuals who are deafblind, providing personalized support and care to enable them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support to adults who are deafblind, assisting with daily activities, personal care, and accessing the community.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement personalized support plans, ensuring the individual's needs are met and their goals are achieved.
  • Support individuals with day-to-day activities, such as shopping, cleaning, and accessing community facilities.
  • Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Encourage and support individuals to participate in activities that promote their physical and emotional well-being, such as arts and crafts, music, and exercise.
  • Attend medical appointments, including medication administration, and work with healthcare professionals to ensure the individual receives person-centered care.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive support network.
Requirements:
  • BSL Level 1 is desirable, but not essential; willingness to work towards it is required.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
