Estimator / Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

Vista Civil Engineering Ltd is seeking an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding Civil Engineering business. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in reviewing tendering opportunities and accurately estimating costs associated with Civil Engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed and accurate take-offs and cost estimates for Civil Engineering projects, including roads, highway drainage, street lighting, and traffic signals.
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documents to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Utilise industry-standard estimating software and tools to prepare accurate cost estimates, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Sub-Contractors to gather necessary information and input detail for cost estimation.
  • Evaluate material, labour, and equipment costs to determine the most cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
  • Identify and quantify project risks and contingencies to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, site visits, and negotiations with clients and subcontractors as needed.
  • Assist in value engineering initiatives to optimise project costs without compromising quality or performance.
Requirements:
  • HNC, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • Proven experience as an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor in the Civil Engineering or Construction Industry.
  • Proficiency in using industry-related estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately assess project costs and risks.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • UK Driving License.
