We are seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team at Ultra I&C Communications. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing satellite communications equipment from concept to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop printed circuit boards with analog and digital components
  • Write firmware to support hardware development and ensure seamless integration with software teams
  • Provide technical support to production and other engineering teams, ensuring timely resolution of issues
  • Facilitate and participate in electronic design reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve design quality
  • Develop and execute test plans for analog and digital boards, ensuring compliance with industry standards
  • Debug complex problems on printed circuit boards, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
  • Perform requirements analysis, deriving system-level requirements from firmware and architecture
  • Undertake integration activities with software and hardware, ensuring smooth handovers
  • Propose improvements in tools, processes, and techniques to enhance quality, innovation, and efficiency in firmware development
  • Contribute to project planning, estimating time and effort required for hardware and firmware activities, and delivering to these estimates to ensure cost and schedule adherence
  • Review technical proposals, assisting with providing accurate estimates for effort, costs, and risks, leading to contract awards
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field
  • Full UK driving license
  • Ability to obtain SC clearance
