Job Title: Senior Hardware Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team at Ultra I&C Communications. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing satellite communications equipment from concept to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop printed circuit boards with analog and digital components
  • Write firmware to support hardware development and ensure seamless integration with software teams
  • Provide technical support to production and other engineering teams to ensure efficient and effective delivery
  • Facilitate and participate in electronic design reviews to ensure high-quality designs
  • Develop and execute test plans for analog and digital boards to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Debug complex problems on printed circuit boards and provide solutions to ensure timely delivery
  • Perform requirements analysis and derivation from system level to firmware level requirements and architecture
  • Undertake integration activities with software and hardware teams to ensure seamless delivery
  • Propose improvements in tools, processes, and techniques to support quality and innovation in firmware development
  • Contribute to customer-facing meetings through document preparation, presentations, and participation in meetings
  • Estimate time and effort required for hardware and firmware activities and deliver to these estimates to ensure cost and schedule adherence
  • Review technical proposals and assist with providing accurate estimates for associated effort, costs, and risks for bids and proposals
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering, a Science-based subject, or equivalent experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Ability to obtain SC Clearance
