Job Title: Band 6 Senior Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Senior Nurse to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and providing clinical and holistic individualized family-centered care to patients and families. They will also be responsible for maintaining evidence-based practice, updating their knowledge and skills, and participating in service development.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide effective clinical and holistic individualized family-centered care to patients and families
  • Maintain evidence-based practice and update knowledge and skills
  • Participate in service development and leadership
  • Take charge and run the ward on a shift-by-shift basis
  • Support the ward manager in delivering a well-led unit
Requirements:
  • Current NMC registration
  • Assessment and discharge skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and non-verbal
  • Leadership/mentorship and teaching skills
  • Previous experience of audits, investigations, and governance
  • Previous experience of running a shift and resolving problems
  • Previous surgical nursing experience
