Band 6 Specialist Nurse Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Specialist Nurse to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist care to patients with lung cancer, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care.
About the RoleThis is a unique opportunity for a senior nurse to expand their clinical skills and knowledge, working in a dynamic and patient-centred environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the information needs of patients, providing relevant support, information, education, advice, and counselling as necessary.
Key Responsibilities- To assess the information needs of patients, service users, family, and friends, and provide relevant support, information, education, advice, and counselling when necessary.
- To ensure continuity for patients referred for specialist care by liaison with referring centre.
- Facilitates all staff in the development of practice with a view to promoting person-centred care when caring for the individual with lung cancer.
- Registered Nurse level 1
- Teaching qualification
- Educated to minimum of 1st degree level or equivalent experience
- Post-registration qualification relevant to specialty
- Evidence of continued professional development
- MSc or working towards
- Advanced Communications skills training
