We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading provider of maintenance and repair services within the aerospace industry, for the position of Buyer. Our client is known for their commitment to excellence and sustainability, with a strong reputation for delivering top-quality services across multiple sites in the United Kingdom.
Role & Responsibilities:- Optimise the procurement process to ensure high-quality materials and components are available when needed.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs by centralising purchasing activities and leveraging spend across multiple sites.
- Monitor and progress open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Address stock shortages and adjust inventory levels as necessary.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, and update supplier contact records in the database.
- Sourcing spare parts on the open market, including higher assemblies for parts teardown, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage internal purchase requisitions and procure non-stock commercial products, using the e-procurement system to streamline spend through group-wide suppliers.
- Conduct weekly reviews of inventory reports and purchasing pharmaceutical products for specific business units.
- Assist in the resolution of delivery, quality, or invoice discrepancies.
- Arrange the return of supplier products according to the company's returns policy, and capture data on quality and delivery performance for supplier assessments.
- Support the engineering team with the costing of spares, tooling, and consumables for various projects.
- Participate in daily meetings to provide accurate product information and support business units effectively.
- Experience in purchasing technical products and services within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment.
- Proficiency in MRP purchasing and stock management systems.
- Strong experience in fostering and managing supplier relationships.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, with the ability to analyse and manipulate large data sets to generate reports and insights.
- The ability to read and understand technical drawings and product specifications.
