About the Role

Mace is seeking a skilled Senior Specialist System Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of MEP services on our projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of MEP services, including health and safety, subcontractor performance, and client liaison.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with clients, main contractors, and consultants to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Lead the production of logic-linked programmes, pre-construction, construction, and commissioning.
  • Drive and record the weekly look-ahead plan for resource and progress.
  • Manage and sequence the supply chain and internal resources in line with programme requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead the management of subcontractor health and safety documentation.
  • Coordinate the auditing of installation works to ensure compliance with Mace processes.
  • Coordinate the management of the auditing of supply chain works onsite in line with approved RAMS.
  • Lead the management of the mechanical and electrical safe system of works.
  • Produce EHS inspections and reporting on YJ.
  • Lead and coordinate the morning safe start process each day.
  • Lead Mace MEP health and safety meetings.
  • Lead in the production of project prelims and resource requirements.
  • Lead in the production of project procurement strategy.
  • Coordinate the review of production of subcontractor tender information.
  • Coordinate the management of procurement of subcontractor packages in line with business and project strategies.
  • Manage project commercials via a profit and loss reporting including lead attendance at project and commercial reporting meeting.
  • Coordinate the management of subcontractor's package risk register.
  • Coordinate the management of subcontractors' weekly dependency schedule production to progress works in line with programme.
  • Coordinate the management of subcontractor's monthly progress meeting.
  • Coordinate the management and monitoring recording and challenging of weekly look-ahead plan for resource and progress.
  • Authorise detailed site instructions via descriptions, sketches, site photos for incorporation by the commercial team.
  • Coordinate the monitoring and auditing of installation works to ensure compliance with project strategies.
  • Coordinate the management monitoring and auditing of MEP installation works to ensure compliance with construction status drawings.
  • Coordinate the management monitoring and auditing of construction installation works to ensure compliance with MEP requirements.
  • Produce the commissioning strategy, management of close-out items for package.
  • Coordinate the management and close-out of commissionability reports.
  • Coordinate the management of subcontractor packages throughout the commissioning until single system completion and integrated systems testing.
  • Lead attendance at commissioning meetings with detailed knowledge of programme, issues, and resolutions.
  • Coordinate the production of detailed engineering reviews at pre-construction ensuring the design is aligned throughout the drawings, specifications, schedules for package.
  • Coordinate the input into design review and management of close-out items for package.
  • Implement value engineering.
  • Coordinate the management of design for subcontract packages in compliance with the employer's requirements, project strategies, regulations, and best practice.

About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Specialist System Engineering Manager to join our team. You will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical services delivery, with a proven track record of leading project teams on small or medium-sized projects.

Requirements

  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical or electrical services installation techniques, best practice, and single system and integrated critical path commissioning requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of construction build elements, including sequencing and dependencies.
  • CSCS management card.
  • SMSTS.
  • Completion of either a trade or technical apprenticeship within the building services bias achieving either a BTECH Level 3/HNC and NVQ or equivalent.
  • Experience of managing and leading project teams on small or medium-sized projects.
  • Internal/external management development courses.
  • Engineering-based bachelor of science/bachelor of engineering degree.
  • Professional instituted membership i.e. CIBSE.
