Job Description

As a Senior Application Operations Engineer at the Department for Work and Pensions, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our applications and services. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Application Support: Provide timely and effective support to users of our applications, ensuring that issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Incident Management: Investigate and resolve incidents related to our applications, working closely with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Problem Management: Identify and resolve recurring problems that impact the performance of our applications, collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.
  • Change Management: Coordinate and implement changes to our applications, ensuring that they are properly tested and validated before deployment.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve our application support processes and procedures, working with stakeholders to develop and implement changes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in a range of technologies, including cloud platforms, databases, and operating systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
