Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Pathology team at The London Clinic in central London.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, with opportunities for part-time work available. The successful candidate will work in sample reception as part of a team supporting and assisting biomedical scientists in other areas of pathology when necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and sort all samples received in sample reception from areas such as the wards, outpatients, GP's and external sources.
  • Label and centrifuge samples in preparation for testing.
  • Identify improperly labelled specimens and deal with them according to the department's policy.
  • Charge patient accounts using Meditech.
  • Input data regarding patient test requirements accurately into the laboratory computer system.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a medical and preferably pathology departments.
  • Computer literate.
  • Understanding of the requirements of GDPR.
  • Basic understanding of pathology processes.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
