Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at The London Clinic. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Pathology department in providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and sort all samples received in sample reception from areas such as the wards, outpatients, GP's and external sources.
  • Label and centrifuge samples in preparation for testing.
  • Identify improperly labelled specimens and deal with them according to the department's policy.
  • Investigate mislabelled or mislaid samples and inform requester as necessary.
  • Charge patient accounts using Meditech.
  • Input data regarding patient test requirements accurately into the laboratory computer system according to procedures.
Requirements
  • Pathology or scientific background required.
  • Previous experience in a medical and preferably pathology departments.
  • Computer literate with excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
